Some folks admit that in "some sense" the resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15 had in fact begun, in the physical resurrection of Jesus. He was the first fruit. Believers are mystically joined with him, and thus, since he was the first, we will be resurrected physically! But, this argument distorts Paul's imagery, and the fact that Paul was focused on "order of occurrence" when discussing Christ as the first fruit. So, if Jesus was the first to be raised, and the resurrection Paul was focused on was physical death, then it demands that not only was Jesus the first to be raised from physical death (a falsehood) it would also demand that physical resurrection was already underway when Paul wrote! But, that is patently false!
